Original Prusa i3 MK3S+
The Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ is the most recent iteration of the award-winning Prusa 3D printers. The MK3S has been enhanced with a new Super PINDA probe for improved first layer calibration, high-quality Misumi bearings, and a number of useful design adjustments to make the printer easier to assemble and maintain. The MK3S+ has all of the previous models’ proven features, such as a heatbed with removable PEI spring steel print sheets, automated Mesh Bed Leveling, filament sensor, power loss recovery (power panic), and safety measures. And it’s as quiet as it’s ever been!
The MK3S+’s capability may be further expanded by our revolutionary Multi-Material Upgrade 2S, which allows you to print with up to 5 filaments at once.
The following is a list of all the features available in the October 2021 edition:
- Controller: Sensorless homing for the X and Y axes, EINSY RAMBo 8-bit board with Trinamic 2130 drivers (256 micro-stepping), co-developed with Ultima chine.
- Mesh Bed Leveling: SuperPINDA sensor (advanced, high-quality sensor) (Super Prusa INDuction Auto Leveling sensor).
- Print sheet profiles: Firmware allows for the storage of Live Z calibration data in print sheet profiles, allowing for rapid switching between different print sheets.
- Filament sensor: IR sensor built-in; filament auto-loading is supported. When the filament runs out, the print stops.
- Power Panic: Single G-code line accuracy depends on hardware
- Ethernet connectivity is provided by Raspberry Pi (optional).
- Wi-Fi connection: access is provided by the Raspberry Pi (optional).
- Advanced sensors: Three thermistors, fan RPM monitoring, and SuperPINDA.
- Calibration: Automatic, Mesh Bed Leveling, Self-Test.
- Print medium: SD card as a printing medium (16 GB card included).
- Firmware updates: are done on a computer (USB cable).
